Quality Update

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant effect on mental health, with increased numbers of patients experiencing depression. Several factors contributed to this including changes to routine, isolation, loss of loved ones and financial insecurity. The impacts are still being felt in our society post-pandemic.

At Special Health Resources, we want to make sure our patients’ mental health needs are prioritized. We made it a goal to perform depression screening on at least 75 percent of our patients who are 12 years of age and older. We are proud to say that we have achieved and surpassed that goal!

In 2023, 92 percent of our patients were screened for depression, and if positive, had a follow-up plan initiated.

More good news! Our 2022 annual survey of all patients that visit our clinics (results received in 2023) showed that:

  • 92 percent of patients were pleased with the thoroughness of their exam
  • 92 percent of patients were pleased with overall services received
  • 90 percent of patients would recommend us to their friends and family

Thank you for being our patient!
