The Intervention Specialist position serves as a facilitator of curriculum-based intervention programs to enhance the Substance Use and HIV prevention and intervention process for schools, business, and community organizations. The Intervention Specialist routinely provides intervention strategies and case management services to youth and families enrolled in the intervention programs. Other significant responsibilities include providing outreach to the communities assigned to prevent or reduce the harmful effects of substance abuse among all ages, facilitate alternative activities for youth and families.
